Violence = freedom of expression
In the wake of the egg throwing at the gay parade held on Saturday, the Pest Central District Court ruled that throwing eggs is protected by the right to freedom of expression and poses no danger.
Some people were shocked by this decision, as was I. The latest reaction came from
The Hungarian non-profit TASZ (The Company for Freedom Rights). According to TASZ, throwing eggs is not a valid form of expressing one's opinion, and, unlike the court, they believe it is a crime.
The group said it is dangerous that Hungary's courts are not using the legal means at their disposal, and are "absurdly" releasing those who seek to violently limit the rights of other, and will file a lawsuit against the perpetrators for violating assembly rights and incitement.
Meanwhile, two gay people and a heterosexual were beaten at the Rudas public baths on the weekend.
